So, you’ve probably heard that before attempting to deep fry a frozen turkey you should make sure it’s completely thawed first, right?
Well, naturally, the world is filled with impatient idiots so the Consumer Product Safety Commission wants to show you the worst-case scenario of what can happen if you try to cut some corners this Thanksgiving.
First, a firefighter begins to lower the frozen turkey into the deep fryer.
As you can see, some serious splattering starts to occur as the turkey meets the hot oil.
And, yeah–then there’s a huge fireball.
According to the NFPA, Thanksgiving is the peak day for home cooking fires, followed by Christmas Day and Christmas Eve.
This holiday season, don’t be that moron–roast your frozen turkey in the oven like a normal civilized human being.
